In view of the success of the first edition of the "Vëlosummer 2020" with more than 40,000 participating cyclists, a second edition launched on Saturday 31 July and will run until Sunday 29 August 2021.

The "Vëlosummer 2021" features twice as many routes that combine cycling and tourism as well as thrice as many participating municipalities compared to the 2020 edition. A total of 12 cycle routes with more than 550 kilometres in 65 different municipalities will be open to cycling enthusiasts.

The General Directorate for Tourism has published a map showing the 12 cycling routes. This map, which highlights, among other things, hospitality businesses and other points of interest for tourists, is available at the various Tourist Information Points and can be ordered on the website www.velosummer.lu.

This site also offers additional information and details about the cycling routes. The new "VisitLuxembourg" application also displays the 12 sections of the "Vëlosummer 2021" and allows participants to be guided along the various routes.

In addition, the General Directorate for Tourism's luggage service movewecarry.lu, which allows cyclists to have their luggage delivered free of charge from one accommodation to another, is once again available. The accommodation vouchers worth €50 distributed by the government are still valid until 15 September 2021 and can thus also be used during the "Vëlosummer 2021".
