It could be another two years before the new PAC will be approved. The government has therefore agreed on transition measures, which will come into effect on 1 January 2021.

The new regulations of the European agricultural agreement will be delayed substantially. The PAC vote was supposed to be held this year, but has been cancelled. New regulations for a transition period, starting at the beginning of 2021, have now been set up for Luxembourgish farmers and winemakers.

Adaptations were also made on the level of financial support to assure  that the sectors in question remain eligible for subsidies. This means that current limitations on investments have been increased.

DP's parliamentary inquiry was answered by minister Romain Schneider, who gave an account of the most pertinent changes for both sectors.
