Shortly after Differdange's mayor Roberto Traversini announced that he would resign, Luxembourg's public prosecutor's office launched a judicial investigation against the politician.
According to a press release, Traversini faces charges of misappropriation of private money, illegal taking of interests, money laundering and violation of a law regarding communal and urban development. In this context, searches were carried out today on the premises of the municipal administration of Differdange and in the offices of the local CIGL.
