Anne-Marie Hanff stated that health workers are also noticing that the coronavirus situation in Luxembourg seems to calm down. Workers can, for instance, go on leave without being anxious of being called back immediately, she explained.
For years, ANIL has been demanding the introduction of a bachelor's degree for future nurses. Counterpoints that are often raised include the financial aspect or that many young people are not interested in following an academic curriculum. Hanff countered that a poll conducted among students refutes these points. She stressed that ANIL's main concern is to provide a perspective for young people, and not money. The work of a nurse has also become more challenging, Hanff added.
ANIL's president is also sceptical of the government's proposed reform that would introduce a bachelor's degree alongside a Higher Technician Certificate (brevet de technicien supérieur - BTS), arguing that, if they had the choice, most students would choose to pursue a bachelor's degree.
