Virtual press conferenceJudges to be separate from prosecutor's office: adr

RTL Today
Luxembourg's Alternative Democratic Party (adr) brought up a number of suggestions for the judicial system as the country is revising its constitution.

The Alternative Democratic Party (adr) is in favour of separating judges from the public prosector's office. The national justice council should only comprise judges while MPs, the government, the state council and residents should also be able to bring matters to the constitutional court, adr further demanded.

ADR MP Roy Reding argued this Friday morning that his party welcomed the corresponding draft bills from CSV MP Léon Gloden but maintained that they do not go far enough.

Reding explained that judges should continue to be part of the judicial power. The public prosecutor's office, on the other hand, should become part of the executive power, the adr MP argued.
