Mertz is also stepping down as a member of both the executive committee and the administrative board, positions which he has held since 2013, according to information published on the Aleba website. He now wishes to concentrate on the committee of the Chamber of Employees, where he represents the association.
A potential successor has not been announced as of yet.
The Aleba trade union is going through a difficult period. It is in conflict with the other unions in the negotiations for the new collective agreement in the banking sector. Recently, Aleba was also deprived of sectoral representation.
