Luxembourg CityLCGB stages protest for the rights of professional drivers

The trade union points out that drivers who live abroad have paid their social security contributions in Luxembourg for years.

Now, they are being excluded from the social security system of the country in which they work, if they spend more than one quarter of their working time abroad. A situation, which the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB) considers "intolerable".

About 66% of the over 7,000 lorry drivers live in one of the three neighbouring countries. For bus drivers, the rate is around 23%.
