
Minister Lex Delles responded to a parliamentary question logged by Pirate Party MP Marc Goergen. According to figures released by Delles, the number of Letzshop users rose by 383% to 195,763 over the last three months.
Membership fees had been waived for 2020 in light of the crisis, while the platform also launched a sister site for people falling into the vulnerable category.
The platform has enabled businesses which were forced to close their doors due to lockdown to continue trading online, which has contributed to its success.
Delles explained around a quarter of the businesses - 101 in total - on Letzshop are situated in the capital, while Bertange and Esch-sur-Alzette took second place with 22 businesses apiece. Ettelbreck follows with 16.
