Cactus communicated on Wednesday morning that its branch in Käerjeng had experienced a technical malfunction over night and would remain closed for the day.
A problem with the cooling system had occurred, filling the building with smoke.
At the scene, local firefighters were supported by their colleagues from Pétange. As soon as the problem is fully resolved, the supermarket will reopen its doors.
