For as yet unknown reasons, a lorry driver lost control over his vehicle when leaving the motorway at the Lankelz junction. The lorry, which was carrying 15,000 litres of liquid cement, tipped onto its side as a result, causing a blockage to traffic.

Initial reports suggest the lorry miraculously failed to shed any of its load. The driver was said to have escaped unscathed.

The incident resulted in traffic jams, particularly on the A13 heading south.
