Eating our words from earlier, Meteolux have now issued a yellow alert for snow. The weather alert will be effective from midday on Sunday and last until 11 pm. The weather service expects between 2 and 5 cm of snow in the south and up to 8cm in the north.
With cold temperatures forecast for next week, between -1 and 1°C in the morning and 0 and 2 °C in the afternoon to be precise, it is likely our roads will remain covered in light snow.
The snow on Sunday will mark the beginning of a cold period in Luxembourg and neighbouring countries as temperatures are set to drop considerably as of this Monday. Lowest temperatures can reach up to -4 °C.
Our advice: make sure to have your winter coats and tyres at the ready!
