The authorities are looking for Christmas trees, so if you've had yours lying around the garden since December, this could be its new lease of life. It's more likely that those who happen to have pine or spruce trees in their garden might have what the city's authorities are looking for - ideally, Ville de Luxembourg is looking for trees with a height between ten and 20 metres.
In addition to this, the authorities want these trees to have the perfect "body": this may not conform to beauty ideals amongst humans, but the city authorities are looking for dense and symmetrical trees.
The tree's time to shine would naturally be December and the authorities would appreciate photographs in the applications.
The capital's parks service is offering to take trees off residents free of charge to then place around key areas in the city, namely Place d'Armes, by the central train station, or around the Royal-Hamilius complex. In total, the parks service is seeking around thirty trees by mid-July. Officials would then remove the trees in mid-October.
If you've got a beauty waiting for their time to shine, contact the parks service by email at parcdemande@vdl.lu or by phone at 4796 3423.
