On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, temperatures dropped below the freezing point. At 7am, it was still -6 degrees in Schengen and even -13 degrees in Schimpach in the north of Luxembourg.
This beautifully snowy picture was taken by RTL Today reader Nicky Farrugia in Luxembourg City this morning:

On Tuesday, temperatures didn't climb above 0 degrees and at about 4pm in the afternoon, it started snowing. A cold front came in through the west and slowly covered Luxembourg in a thin layer of snow.

While the snowy landscape looks pretty, drivers should be extra careful today - snow and black ice can make roads rather treacherous today.
The snowy weather conditions are only expected to last until about noon on Wednesday. After that, it will be largely dry with temperatures between -3 and 0 degrees.
