Starting Monday, general practitioners, dentists, and hospitals will take cautious steps towards ordinary work routines. Up until now, most consultations have been done via telephone. Doctors are now happy to once again meet with their patients in person, Dr Guillaume Steichen of AMMD explains. People are still asked to first consult their doctors via telephone to determine where the in-person consultation will take place.

When it comes to hospitals, the return to normal has been rather slow, mostly due to the fact that patients are still separated into Covid and non-Covid sections.

The case of dentists poses additional problems, since dental work is associated with increased infection risks. AMMD held a press briefing on Thursday morning to address these issues and appeal for additional safety gear, which will be distributed to dentists throughout the country the same day.

In general, AMMD is confident that the safety precautions taken would be adequate and guarantee that people no longer need fear in-person consultations.
