The Grand Duchy has three renowned bathing spots to which people flock during the warmer days of the year: the Upper Sûre Lake, commonly known in Luxembourg as the ‘Stauséi’ (‘barrier lake’), the Weiswampach lake, and the “Baggerweieren” in Remerschen.
This year’s bathing season lasts from 1 May until 30 September.
The Water Management Authority announced earlier this week that the swimming lakes have “excellent” water quality following recent testing. The water’s microbiological quality is tested on a regular basis, with monitoring taking place at different spots around the bodies of water.
With all of the popular bathing spots open for business, it is now only a question of finding a day with enough sunshine to make the trip worth your while.
