Motorists driving towards Kirchberg or Germany are advised to bypass the A1.
An accident occurred on the motorway in the direction Gasperich-Kirchberg. According to the Motorway Traffic Control and Information Centre (CITA), three vehicles collided between the Howald tunnel and the Sandweiler exit.
More than four kilometres of traffic jams have been reported from the site of the accident to Croix de Gasperich.
