Former co-speakerMarie-Paule Dondelinger leaves Pirate Party

RTL Today
The former co-speaker of the Pirate Party and, until Monday morning, member of the executive committee, Marie-Paule Dondelinger, has left the party.

Our colleagues at RTL.lu were unable to reach her for a statement. However, it appears that Dondelinger did not longer agree with her party’s stance on the Covid-19 measures.

In an interview she gave to a YouTube channel in April, Dondelinger stated that she thinks it is “thoughtless and irresponsible” that children and teachers are required to wear masks throughout the school day.

On Monday morning, Pirate Party MP Marc Goergen still stated that the party first wanted to “assess” the nature of Dondelinger’s statements. Goergen also stressed that, in general, the executive committee accepts the fact that “not everyone within a party shares the same opinions”.
