Meteolux have announced an orange alert as temperatures are set to hit 36°C in southern parts of Luxembourg today. As a reminder, the elderly, vulnerable and small children are advised to be cautious in extreme heat, although the following tips apply to everyone:

• Close shutters, curtains and windows during the day and ventilate at night;
• Drink plenty of water regularly throughout the day (a minimum of 1.5 litres of water per day);
• Avoid going outside during the hottest hours (11am to 9pm);
• Cover your head when going out;
• Wear light clothing;
• Limit your physical activities.

Morning temperatures start us off hot at 16-18°C, rising to afternoon highs of 34-36°C, barely dropping to 31-33°C in the evening. Stay cool everyone!
