The motorbike rider was travelling from Herborn to Bech with a couple of friends. As he was turning a corner, he ended up in the wrong lane and collided with a lorry. He was brought to the hospital with severe injuries.
According to police reports, the rider tested negatively for alcohol, but positive for drug consumption.
The Public Prosecutor's Office has ordered an inquiry, for the records department to take stock of the situation and for the victim's vehicle and personal items to be taken care of.
The latest updates reveal the motorbike rider is still in a critical condition.
Another motorbike accident occurred on Saturday at around 4.30pm in Rossmühle.
The rider lost control in a corner and ended up in a field, severely injuring himself in the process. While the cause for the accident remains unknown, any external involvement has been excluded.
