The first platform has been installed at Lameschmillen (between Bergem and Noertzange), near an older nest used by storks for mating for nearly six years.
The old nest was at threat as it was based on a dead poplar tree which could fall down.
The second nest has been installed in Schifflange in the Alzette nature restoration zone. The last nest has been built in Bettembourg, as a couple of storks randomly settled on a broken poplar tree five years ago.
The nest platforms are hoisted onto 7 metre tall masts and have a diameter of 1.20 metres. Volunteers covered the platforms with straws and twigs to create nests.
