Downloaded and installed in seconds, the app is easy to use and offers a free, confidential and anonymous consultation with trained specialists, in addition to basic information about addictions, self tests and the "logbook" option.

Günter Biwersi, deputy director of the "Jugend- an Drogenhëllef" association, said clients were usually seen once a week, but the app offered the opportunity to increase contact and discuss questions which may not usually arise in a one hour meeting.

The app is not just designed for those undergoing treatment. Biwersi said the association was often contacted by young people and students doing research, with questions on addiction. He said they hoped to reach a large number of internet users, whether consumers or those interested in the topic of addiction.
The consultation will work quickly during the week and provide answers within 48 hours.

With regard to addictive substances, the app currently provides information on six products, including alcohol, cigarettes, cannabis and cocaine, although the limited selection will expand over the next few months.

Biwersi said these were the most commonly consumed substances, but the programme would be adapted according to client demands.

The app was primarily developed for the Luxembourg market, but the organisers also hope to offer assistance to cross-border workers and residents of the Greater Region.
