Once again, private people, clubs, associations, and businesses came together in support of cancer research by collecting money for the Télévie donation week.
Throughout the day, RTL has been broadcasting reports about the people who gave money for a good cause.
A spinning challenge at RTL City launched this year’s edition of the annual Télévie week. On Monday, 20 teams made up of 150 RTL City employees cycled to collect money for cancer research. RTL Group donated €5 per kilometre.
By the end of the evening, a whopping - and record-breaking - €2,060,211 had been raised to help fund cancer research in Luxembourg.
Over the course of the week, further Télévie events also took place in Niederanven, Merzig, and Dudelange, with RTL teams reporting live from each scene. All week long, donation lines operated from 6.30 a.m. until 9.00 p.m.
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa also joined the final Télévie broadcast on Saturday evening (see gallery at the top of the article). As with every edition, the entire sum will be donated in support of cancer research here in Luxembourg.
An auction where people could bid for a coat by national football coach Lux Holtz, a painting by artist Sumo, and a picture signed by Gibbes and Arthur König from Capitani 2, also ran until 9.30 p.m.
