A driver who appeared to be in a hurry overtook a police car on the A4 motorway at around 4.30am. At around 6.30am, an accident occurred in Rue de la Gare in Bettembourg when a driver crashed their car into a pole. The vehicle was left stranded in the middle of the road, which caused a traffic jam. When the police arrived shortly afterwards, they discovered that the driver had fallen asleep at the wheel. A breathalyser test revealed that the motorist was inebriated. The police withdrew the driving licence. No one was injured.

The police reported one more incident involving a drink-driver that occurred on the A7/N7 shortly after 8am. According to the police report, the motorist had crashed into the crash barrier several times but continued driving in the direction of northern Luxembourg. The police managed to find the reported vehicle and found the driver fast asleep at the wheel. The driver, who showed clear signs of being inebriated, refused to take a breathalyser test. The police issued a driving ban against him as well as a fine.
