A woman was mugged near Boulevard Royal at 4.00 p.m. on Saturday. A group of what are suspected to be three minors jumped her from behind and forced the woman to the ground. The attackers stole a necklace and a watch before escaping towards ‘Kinnekswiss’ in the municipal park. Police were unable to locate them, but have opened an investigation into the incident.

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, police had to respond to several cases of noise disruption. Close to 20 calls came in, most of which were related to bars or cafés. The incidents in question were all resolved at the scene.

Two brawls

Police were also forced to intervene in physical altercations over the weekend. At 3.00 a.m., officers were called to a café in Dudelange. A number of guests started a brawl once the music was turned off and the lights back on. Several patrols had to be deployed to calm the situation.

In the end, one person was injured, but refused to go to the hospital for treatment. Even though nobody decided to file a complaint, officers still took one person to a nightly arrest cell for behaving aggressively towards them.

At 3.30 a.m., a second brawl erupted on Rue du Fort Neipperg in Luxembourg City. One person suffered injuries in the process, but refused to provide a statement to the police afterwards. Officers put one person in a nightly arrest cell for trying to interrupt them at the scene of the fight. Several units were needed to calm the situation.

Hit-and-run in Reckange

A driver crashed into a road sign in Reckange at 8.00 p.m. on Saturday. The person fled the scene afterwards, but police were able to identify the driver as she lost one of her license plates at the scene of the crash.

When officers arrived at the woman’s home, she immediately admitted to being responsible for the crash. The alcohol test came back positive, which is why police revoked her license.
