Response to parliamentary questionOne known case of Russophobia in Luxembourg

RTL Today
Due to Russian aggression against Ukraine, there are isolated acts of Russophobia in the country.

So far, the judiciary of Luxembourg and Diekirch is aware of one case of Russophobia, according to the Ministry of State’s response to a parliamentary question from ADR on Friday.

The government continues to condemn all forms of hatred and discrimination. People affected can report to the CET, the Centre for Equal Treatment.

In its answer to the CSV’s parliamentary question, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that a Luxembourger is currently still in Ukraine and would like to stay there. All the others have already left the country.

As far as Russia is concerned, according to the national register, 31 Luxembourgers have a permanent address there. Seven of them have registered via the platform ‘Luxembourgers abroad’, but because it is not obligatory, the ministry cannot be 100% sure how many Luxembourgers are actually in Russia.
