Both men first engaged with the victim in a friendly manner on a terrace, even convincing him to pay for their drinks. They then proposed to visit another establishment, to which the victim agreed.
While walking across the passage that connects Place St. Michel with Rue St. Vincent, they threw the unsuspecting man to the ground, injuring him in the process. They searched for objects of value and stole the victim's wallet.
Soon after, the assailants used one of the stolen credit cards to withdraw cash from a machine. The police was able to secure the camera footage in time to find and identify one of the suspects. Officers then immobilised and arrested the man, who will have to face an examining magistrate.
