The elections for the Chamber of Commerce's plenary assembly have ended and the 25 individuals to be in charge of the chamber have been selected. Made up from six electoral groups, elections only took place in group one as the other groups only had as many candidates as spots that were on offer.
Groups one and three, representing commerce and industry (including SMEs) respectively, each have eight seats. Group four, representing the banking and finance industry, has five seats, and group six, the hospitality industry, has two seats. The other remaining groups each have one seat.
Luc Frieden, former Minister of Finance, has officially been selected as a member of the assembly from the banking and finance group.
The members of the assembly will take up their roles around Easter, which is when a president will be proposed and elected. That president could potentially be Frieden, who has expressed an interest.
