On Friday afternoon, two unknown culprits stole a necklace from a woman in Rue Grand-Duchesse Charlotte in Mersch.

Two women approached the victim under the pretence of wanting to sell her a blouse. While the victim was distracted, the two culprits stole her necklace. A complaint has been filed.

At around 2.30am on Saturday, a man was mugged by three people in Ville-Haute (Luxembourg City). According to the victim’s testimony, two people grabbed him by the neck while a third person ripped his necklace off. The culprits then fled the scene.

However, the police managed to locate them shortly afterwards on Boulevard Royal. The necklace was returned to its owner and the police discovered that the three culprits were carrying other stolen jewellery as well.

In other news, the police bulletin revealed that nine driving licences were withdrawn because of drink-driving on Friday night.
