Police received reports of the attack at around 9pm on Wednesday evening. The emergency services located the victim on a public street, bleeding heavily from a stab wound. According to initial reports, a verbal disagreement had taken place between the victim and at least two other men, one of whom went on to physically attack him. The perpetrators fled the scene before police arrived and have not yet been identified.
The victim was brought to hospital for emergency surgery following treatment at the scene of the incident.
