Mistreatment of pet dogsProsecutor demands €1,500 fine for animal cruelty

RTL Today
The first verdict for the case, passed in 2018, resulted in a €1,500 fine. During the appeal process on Wednesday afternoon, the prosecutor general recommended that the fine be upheld.

The defendant, a young woman, was sentenced to the fine in December 2018, after she was charged with animal cruelty. She had left two dogs in a van parked at the LuxExpo in April 2017.

The dogs were shut in cages and the vehicle was left in direct sun, without sufficient water for the animals.

The appeal's verdict will be confirmed on 11 December.
