
The committee of the ‘JIF’ (Journée internationale des femmes – International Women’s Day) has organised a protest march, whichis scheduled to start at Place de la Gare at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. From there, it will lead over Nouvelle Avenue to Place d’Armes, where organisers will give speeches.
In the run-up to the event, the Chamber of Employees released a report on gender equality in the workplace. On average, men earn 1.4% more than women, thus placing the Grand Duchy far below the EU average of 14.4%.

Before the beginning of the outbreak, women were already more likely to manage family households and take care of children. The LISER researchers found that this trend has been reinforced by the pandemic. Furthermore, women were more at risk of losing their job due to the pendemic.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Chamber of Deputies is scheduled to hold a debate on equality between women and men.
