
Last week, the number of PCR tests went up while the number of positive cases experienced a slight decrease. 715 people tested positive for Covid-19. During that same time period, 298 people suffered a reinfection. No casualties were reported in relation to the coronavirus between 29 August and 4 September.
There were 1,821 active infections registered on 4 September, down from 1,889 during the previous week. The average age of infected people was 43.7 years. 284,464 people are considered to have recovered from an infection.
Last week, four people were hospitalised after having contracted Covid-19, half as many as during the previous seven days. One patient is being treated in an ICU. The average age of hospital patients is 54 years.
The seven-day incidence rate per 100,000 residents decreased from 120 to 111 in a week. Most infections occurred abroad (38%), followed by those transmitted by relatives (19%), and those happening during leisure activities (8%). In 25% of cases, no infection origin was determined.
Last week, 14 people received their first vaccination jab, 21 people the second one. 117 people got a first booster shot and 1,217 people a second one. A total of 1,290,223 doses have been administered so far. 474,549 people are now considered fully vaccinated, which equals 79% of the population above the age of five.
