The incident took place in a supermarket in Bonnevoie shortly after 8am on Friday morning, according to the police report.

A man was hiding razor blades in his jacket. When he felt he had been spotted by a supermarket employee, the thief grabbed a bottle and threw it at the employee before walking towards them and hitting them in the face. The employee suffered minor injuries.

The shoplifter then fled, but the police were able to find him shortly afterwards. The Public Prosecutor's Office ordered the arrest of the man, who was immediately brought before an examining magistrate.

The man turned out to be a repeat offender. He was already subject to a "ban on entry".

Drunk driving and burglary

The police also confiscated two driving licences between late Friday evening and early Saturday morning, after the respective drivers caused accidents and were found to be intoxicated.

A burglary also took place in Steinsel. The owner of the house was abroad but was able to observe the burglary through a security camera. The culprit is still on the run.
