
The Luxembourgish tribunals declared 136 bankruptcies in June. The companies most affected by these bankruptcies are holding companies and investment funds (27%) and those from the economic branches of trade (21%), specialised, scientific and technical activities (12%) and construction (10%), according to the Statec press release.
The number of bankruptcies in the first half of 2021, at 647, is 8% higher than the average for the first half of 2018 and 2019.

In addition, the Luxembourgish court ordered the liquidation of 98 companies. These were again mainly holding companies and investment funds.
In the first half of 2021, liquidations are up by 80% compared to the average in the first half of 2018 and 2019.
