At around midday on Saturday, a reader alerted RTL to a significant emergency services deployment in Oberkorn.

Images sent from the scene by an RTL staff member confirmed that the fire brigade had been called in. When contacted, police stated that smoke had developed in the basement of a house on Rue d’Oberkorn. Two people were reportedly inside the house at the time.

The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) has not yet responded to a request for further details about the incident.
