NATO MissionState Council approves sending Luxembourgish soldiers to Iraq

During the meeting of the State Council on Thursday, the government gave its agreement in principle to send Luxembourgish soldiers to Iraq as part of a NATO mission.

In addition, the Grand Duchy's army will also support a mission by the European Union in Mozambique.

As stipulated by law, the parliamentary consultation procedure has already been launched.

Other decision reached by the State Council

The State Council agreed on new adjustments to the Covid-19 law as well as Luxembourg's vaccination strategy.

In addition, the ministers decided to move forward with a revision of the nomenclature of midwives' acts and services covered by health insurance.

Travel between Luxembourg and Quebec will be facilitated for university students. A draft agreement between the two parties was approved.

Finally, the ministers gave the green light to a new construction project of the non-profit Stëmm vun der Strooss in Sanem.
