Hesperange Mayor and MP Marc Lies from the Christian Social People’s Party (CSV) recently filed a parliamentary enquiry about the development of a bypass in his home town.
In his response, Minister for Mobility and Public Works François Bausch explained that the Hesperange-Alzingen bypass is scheduled to be discussed by the State Council this week. Following a debate of both route and compensatory measures, a draft project will be finalised, further noted Minister Bausch.
However, the financing law for the project can only be passed once all the respective studies are completed. Due to delays in the public consultation process, it is unlikely that this will happen before March 2023.
The 2023 budget project envisions the bypass to be developed by 2026. However, no exact date was retained in the document.
