Minister for Mobility François Bausch attributes this excessively high number of complaints to the creation of a new association of airport residents, which systematically reports all aircraft exceeding the permitted noise thresholds.
However, the number of complaints does not necessarily correspond to the number of actual exceedances of aviation noise limits.
None of these complaints have led to sanctions against the airlines, as there is no legal basis for such measures, according to Bausch, who provided this clarification in response to a parliamentary question from MP Mars Di Bartolomeo from the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP).
