Aleps reacted to the reform plans regarding the education and training for health professions, which were presented on Monday. In its statement, the association deplores that after years of demanding a "coherent training structure", they ended up learning of the government's plans from the news reports.

Aleps stated that the inter-ministerial committee which planned the reform did not include even a single representative involved in the education and training of future health professionals.

The association is very critical of the reform, stating that three different degrees to become a nurse are "a mess" which raises numerous questions.

Both Aleps and the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) demand the abolishment of the BTS diploma (Brevet de technicien supérieur, "Higher Technician Certificate") for the nursing profession and the creation of a coherent training ending in a bachelor's degree, similar to the system in other EU countries.
