Southern LuxembourgTemporary impound lot to be set up in Differdange

Following the closure of the impound lot in Esch-sur-Alzette, a temporary lot will be set up in Differdange.

An impound lot with a capacity of 150 vehicles will be constructed in Differdange. “The plans will be finalised shortly with an opening planned for the spring of 2023,” says the Ministry of Internal Security.

While waiting for the opening of the site in Differdange, and following an interministerial agreement, “the intermodal transport terminal ‘Eurohub Sud’, located between Dudelange and Bettembourg, which currently receives vehicles impounded by the police, will continue to be used as an impound lot for the south-west region. The site’s capacity has been increased from 50 to 120 vehicles.”

In the long run, the ministry noted, “it is still intended that the Ministry of Public Works will set up the permanent impound lot for the south-western region on the site near the Raemerich roundabout.”

A previous temporary impound lot had to be shut down due to security concerns, leading to impounded cars being stationed all throughout Esch.
