Officers on duty discovered 16 cases in which drivers were over the alcohol limit, issuing fines and, in three cases, confiscated drivers’ licences.
Another 22 drivers received written warnings because their vehicle’s paperwork was incomplete or out of date.
The checks took place on Thursday evening at 22.00 and at 2.30 on Friday morning.
