According to the police report, two people had to be extracted from the wreckage of their vehicle following the crash.
Three people were taken to hospital for treatment, although their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Initial reports suggested one of the cars was on fire with people trapped inside, leading to a number of ambulances being dispatched to the site of the crash. However, these reports turned out to be false.
