
Clasen explained that it is the goal of the Federation, which currently has 600 members, to bring young leaders from all economic sectors together and incentivise constructive exchanges. He admitted that with a rate of only 20%, women are underrepresented in the Federation, which he hopes to change in the future.
Although the group is not lobbying for any particular goals, they still present ideas for politicians to consider. In the context of the election year 2023, the Federation has started to work on a number of projects, including some in education, healthcare, social cohesion, the environment, and competitiveness. However, this is an ongoing process and no concrete proposals are out yet.
Like so many groupings, the Federation is worried about high inflation, energy prices, and the implications of the Covid crisis. Clasen also expressed concern that too many people choose to wok for the government rather than trying their luck in the private sector. He thus argued that entrepreneurship is not being furthered enough.
Asked about the index mechanism, Clasen acknowledged that the measure is critical for social peace, but always difficult to carry for businesses.
