As the bus depot in Hollerich is set to be demolished, the Luxembourg City Tram and Bus Museum will have to move, though its future location has not yet been decided.

The issue of the museum's future was raised by The Greens (déi gréng) during a Luxembourg City council meeting.

Alderman in charge of city transport, Patrick Goldschmidt of the Democratic Party (DP), first presented visitor figures for the Tram and Bus Museum in recent years, which reached 5,884 in 2025.

As the bus depot in Hollerich will disappear, the museum will also need a new site. However, the exact location has not yet been defined, mayor Lydie Polfer explained, while stressing that none of the museum's collection will be lost and that it will certainly be expanded and exhibited at a new location.

It was also highlighted that this year marks 150 years of public transport. In that context, the museum will host an open day on 6 June.
