At the end of September, 20,269 people were registered as unemployed with the National Employment Agency (ADEM). That is 1,349 more than a year earlier, an increase of 7.1%.
The number of job seekers aged 16 to 29 rose by 10.7% compared with September 2025. Among those aged 45 to 64, the number rose by 7.6%.
The number of unemployed people with higher qualifications grew by 10.6% year on year. That is a slower rise than in August, when the annual increase was 19%.
In September, 3,430 Luxembourg residents registered with ADEM as new job seekers.
