On Saturday, electricity provider Creos issued an appeal to victims of the floods who lost power over the past couple of days: "First contact an electrician to check on your installations before turning them back on."
The company further explained that networks which were partially or fully submerged are likely to have suffered "major" damage.
While Creos is responsible for making sure that electricity is safely supplied to individual households, they are not in charge of checking on private installations, officials also underlined.
