At around 5am on Saturday, an altercation involving several people broke out on Boulevard Prince Henri, one of the main thoroughfares in Esch-sur-Alzette. During the brawl, one person suffered a stab wound to the chest and was taken to A&E, police said.
Officers at the scene found two knives. An investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
The case echoes a similar event last Wednesday, when police arrested a different suspect who was later brought before an examining magistrate. That individual had been actively sought since Friday 24 April, when a brawl involving several people took place on Rue Philippe II in Luxembourg City around 10.20pm.
Several police units intervened at the time and found a person with multiple stab wounds. According to initial findings, an altercation allegedly broke out between that individual and another person before escalating into a brawl.
