Starting on Sunday and remaining available until March, night shelters will be available to homeless people, with help and facilities also remaining open during daytime. A new night shelter has opened its doors in Findel.
The winter action shelter in Dernier Sol in Bonnevoie is expected to host an average of 130 individuals each day. The shelter allows the homeless to warm up during the day and it provides food and entertainment such as a table football and a TV.

The winter action programme was founded 18 years ago. The homeless are supported by staff from a partner organisation, Inter-Actions. The organisation, which has a purpose of improving conditions for socially disadvantaged groups, there will not be major follow-ups for people using the shelter's services.

With the newly opened structure in Findel, homeless people have access to another 250 beds, which is an increase from the previous temporary structure. According to the partner organisation, the new shelter is much more modern.

Shuttles buses operate between the night shelter and Luxembourg City in the morning and evening to facilitate travel. Staff are also able to talk to and advise those in need.

The new night shelter cost €6.5 million. As a reminder, the shelters involved in the "Wanteraktioun" initiative are seeking volunteers. If you have the time and willingness to help, click below for further details on how to get involved.
