Road safetyWearing seat belt is mandatory on buses in Luxembourg, and saves lives

RTL Today
According to the law, you have to wear a seat belt on the bus if one is available.

But it is not always done, especially among kids. That's why a 'pedagogic bus' recently visited Luxembourg, the mission of which is to make children and teenagers aware of the dangers and risks of not wearing a seat belt.

The bus demonstrates what can happen when you are not wearing your seat belt. In the case of an accident you can become a human bullet and you risk not only yourself but others as well.

This bus can also simulate a roll-over. A crashed bus rolls over on its side in 1 to 2 seconds. The pedagogic bus  does it in 17 seconds. With this exercise Students are made aware of the risks and dangers of not wearing a seat belt.

It is also a lesson on how to react in the case of an accident. The pedagogic bus has in any case had an astounding effect on students.

Luxembourgish law says that wearing your seat belt on buses and coaches is obligatory, assuming the bus has them. This also goes for short distances, as the danger of accidents remains.
