Changes

Autotests can no longer be used to get into a bar or club after one o'clock in the morning. Only PCR and antigen tests can be used for that purpose.

For private gatherings where more than ten people gather together, masks are mandatory and distances need to be kept. In case the number of people is greater than 50, guests will have to be seated. Alternatively, private events can also be registered with the Health Directorate, which allows to use the Covid Check system. In those cases, people will not have to wear a mask or keep their distance.

When it comes to fines for businesses that fail to respect the Covid Check mechanism, they have been significantly raised from €4,000 to €6,000.

General practitioners and paediatricians will be authorised to vaccinate people against Covid-19.

Status Quo

Masks remain mandatory in enclosed public spaces, on public transport, as well as in shops and stores.

Social distancing needs to be respected during non Covid Check events.

Gatherings of more than 300 people remain prohibited, except for those that received prior authorisation from the Health Directorate.

To travel to or return to Luxembourg, people still need a negative PCR test no older than 72 hours (48 hours in case of antigene tests) if they cannot comply with the Covid Check requirements.
